Labor Department Expands Veterans Employment Program

The pilot program enhances job placement and support for those transitioning out of the military.

The U.S. Department of Labor has expanded its Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS), adding four organizations to its Employment Navigator and Partnership Pilot. The program is designed to offer personal employment assistance to transitioning service members and their spouses at selected military installations around the world.

These organizations – Indeed Inc., Aston Carter Inc., the North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Fund, and the Hampton Roads Workforce Council – join the existing 44 non-government and two government partner entities to support the pilot initiative. The pilot program supplements classroom instruction in the department’s Transition Assistance Program by connecting transitioning service members and their spouses with partner organizations.

These groups will provide additional employment services specific to the individuals’ needs, such as apprenticeship opportunities, digital skills matching, placement services, and comprehensive support services.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Acting Secretary Julie Su as she oversees the Labor Department.
  • For Assistant Secretary Jame Rodriguez as he heads the Veterans Employment and Training Service.
  • For veterans and their spouses as they transition from active-duty military service to the public or private job market.
